# Migrate Studio R Shiny The R Shiny edition of Migrate Studio is for migrating SAS programs from Linux to Windows. It runs on R 4.2.3 with Shiny 1.12.1, and deploys to Shiny Server or Posit Connect as an ordinary Shiny application. For the Windows to Linux direction, see [Migrate Studio Python](../migrate-studio-python/README.md). The two editions keep separate rule books by design. ## Start It ```sh Rscript run_migrate_studio.R ``` Two flags decide how it behaves and are worth reading before deployment: ```sh --engine native|python --folder-mode browser|server ``` `--engine native` uses the R implementation in `R/api_native.R`. `--engine python` shells out to `python/mig_apply.py` through `R/py_bridge.R`, which needs Python 3.9+ on the server. `--folder-mode browser` uses the File System Access API, so it needs Chrome or Edge on the client. `--folder-mode server` reads folders the server can see, listed with `--server-roots`. The shared flags are: ```sh --port --host --programs --no-open --check --data-dir --import-legacy-history [PATH] ``` ## Layout - `R/`: Shiny API dispatch, native rule engine, server folder mode, and config. - `www/`: browser app, CSS, JavaScript, icons, and manual assets. - `python/`: optional Python rule engine bridge. - `rules/`: sanitized workbook rule book. - `tests/js/` and `tests/testthat/`: browser and R regression tests. - `samples/`: synthetic `STUDY002` fixture programs only. - `docs/`: user manual, rule-book notes, and Shiny deployment notes. Run `Rscript tools/check_env.R` before deployment. ## License Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. Copyright (c) 2026 Meta-Xceed, Inc. Author: Sy Truong, Meta-Xceed, Inc. (MXI).
