# Migrate Studio Python The Python edition of Migrate Studio is for migrating SAS programs from Windows to Linux. It needs Python 3.9+ and runs as a local server that opens the app in your browser. For the Linux to Windows direction, see [Migrate Studio R Shiny](../migrate-studio-r-shiny/README.md). The two editions keep separate rule books by design. ## Start It ```sh python migrate_studio.py ``` Useful flags, in the same order as the Shiny edition: ```sh --port --host --programs --no-open --check --data-dir --import-legacy-history [PATH] ``` Run `python tools/check_env.py` to verify Python, `openpyxl`, `pytest`, and the required app files. ## Layout - `www/`: browser app, CSS, JavaScript, icons, and manual assets. - `python/`: batch and MC rule engines. - `rules/`: sanitized workbook, MC JSON pack, and MC source macro. - `tests/js/` and `tests/python/`: focused regression tests. - `samples/`: synthetic `STUDY001` fixture programs only. - `docs/`: user manual and rule-book notes. ## Rule Sources The MC pack is runtime rule content and lives in `rules/`, not `samples/`. Workbook rule details live in `rules/Migrate_Studio_Rules.xlsx`. See [docs/rule-book.md](docs/rule-book.md) for the edition-specific notes. ## Development Checks ```sh python -m pytest -q tests/python python/test_mig_apply.py node tests/js/test_mig_rules.js ``` ## License Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0.
